West Midlands based alternative rock band Captain Horizon have joined Rocksector Records for the release of a brand new album in 2014 & also the re-release of debut album “The Lights Of Distorted Science”.
Steve “Whitty” Whittington (lead vocals), Joshua Watson (guitars, backing vocals), James “Mez” Merrix (drums, percussion), Alex Thomson (bass. backing vocals).
The band was formed in 2008 by Josh and Alex with the aim of bringing together the high energy and intricacy of bands like Incubus, Tool and Porcupine Tree with the classic swagger of stadium rockers such as AC/DC, Pearl Jam, Pink Floyd and U2. Whitty and Mez were added and each brought their own special elements of originality, belief and connection with audiences.
Three EPs were released, prior to the debut full length album “The Lights Of Distorted Science” with the infectious and moving “Patch” which was re-worked in 2013 with an inspiring video for the benefit of the Royal British Legion. Of the debut album, Powerplay magazine said “Emotional integrity and intellectual rigour married to songs of almost unbearably moving intensity”.
“The Lights Of Distorted Science” is to be re-released in February 2014, whilst a brand new album to be recorded and released later in 2014.
